Mesothelioma Awareness

This post is sponsored by All opinions are my own.

Tomorrow is Mesothelioma Awareness Day. Did you know US veterans and military members are the most at risk for developing mesothelioma cancer?

I am helping Emily Walsh, Community Outreach Director for the Mesothelioma Cancer Alliance, spread awareness by sharing an article that she wrote. You can read the article here. It contains information regarding 8 important facts about mesothelioma.

8 Facts About Mesothelioma

1. Mesothelioma is caused by asbestos exposure.
2. No amount of exposure is safe.
3. Asbestos was once used in more than 3,000 consumer products.
4. It can be found in many older homes, schools, factories, and commercial buildings.
5. Asbestos exposure is still the LEADING CAUSE of occupational cancer in the US.
6. United States Veterans are at the greatest risk.
7. Asbestos is still not banned in the US.
8. Mesothelioma can be caused by secondary exposure.

Because of my connection to the military community, I thought my readers would find this information valuable.

The key to saving lives starts with raising awareness!

  1. This information is incredibly valuable! Thank you so much for sharing!

  2. Crazy thing is - I've heard this word all the time (like in attorney ads & stuff) and always brushed it off like "Oh, it's just something that attorneys are trying to get class action $$ for". Now I know it's much more serious than that, and I'm glad I do.

  3. Wow thanks for this, my husband is the Army and I definitely need to warn him or educate him about this.

Thanks Jackie, for linking up at the Lovely Blog Hop this week!
