Striving for Success

Tuesday, June 4, 2013

I don't and never have [truly] striven for perfection. I strive for success and, perhaps just as important, I measure it by my own idea of what success is for me.

Well, I've been feeling super driven lately. It's not that I'm usually not driven - because I am. People sometimes tell me I need to take a moment to relax and not think about my dreams... and I take their advice for a moment or two. (This is not to say I don't live in the present because if you know me, you know I do.)
But I am always thinking about my next step - or 3 - as well.

I now have the opportunity I've wanted since I could remember within my grasp. I just have to overcome one other hurdle and it's MINE! With the success of overcoming it will {God willing} come amazing things.

This is where uplifting quotes come into play. They're a favorite of mine because they help me during many times, including feeling-motivated-times like now. So when I stumbled upon these, I was made happy. I thought these were all some good tidbits of advice and inspiration and I figured I'd share them with you. Because who can't use some good ol' motivation every now and then? :)

Happy Day!

  1. Eleanor Roosevelt has an awesome book called, "You learn by living," with tons of inspirational sayings in it.

    You should read it.

Also, it's ok to be relaxed, but I definitely think that thinking of your next step is the BEST WAY to plan out your life. I call it visualization and I am CONSTANTLY doing it. My life has worked out just as I would have hoped (better, really) because of it.
